Adventure Time

Untitled
It's been a rather gloomy winter around here with an inversion or two that just wouldn't die and sub-freezing temperatures just about every day. Like a large portion of the country, when a high of 18° and 10 hours of smog-veiled sunshine is all you have to look forward to, it can get pretty old pretty quickly. I've lived in Utah long enough to realize that it's just how it goes and there's no sense in complaining about it, but I'll be damned if when the inversion broke the other day and there was a patch of blue sky for the first time in weeks if that wasn't the most beautiful thing I'd ever seen. I can't say it makes me appreciate the horrible air quality we dealt with for awhile, but the way it felt having such a renewed appreciation for those clear blue skies is something I hope to never forget.

This morning I had to take my babyboy for a little trip to the vet - he was overdue for a check-up and his sensitive eyes had been a little too sensitive the past few days. After a quick little visit we were sent away with well-wishes and tobramycin drops, but what I think dude really needed was a prescription for fun.

So with that, we took off to our favorite coffee drive thru for a piping hot americano and a jumbo milkbone and headed towards Memory Grove. It was such a great morning. There were squirrels to track and dog friends to romp with. Hills to climb and ice patches to skate across. He had the best time.

Afterwards I was even lucky enough to get a prime parking spot right in front of Eva's Bakery - the place has been open less than two weeks and I've already been half a dozen times if that tells you anything about how good it is. I popped in for a quick little croissant and loaf of sourdough before it was time to head home and get ready for girl's brunch at one of my other favorite little bakeries. Some people pre-game with drinks, I prefer pastries ;)

Keep your fingers crossed for me that there's a pain au jambon left for me! If you get the chance to hit Tulie Bakery and you see any in stock, you have got to pick one up. It's one of my very favorite butter-laden indulgences.
have a wonderful Saturday  ♥
xo.
